lease vs finance

Lease vs. Finance. I get asked this almost every day, so let's settle it.

Here's the truth nobody tells you: neither one is better. There's no right or wrong answer here. There's only what's right for you and how you live.

Let me break it down the way I explain it to my buyers.

LEASING is basically like dating before getting married. You're not committing to the whole car, just the part you use. Lower payments, a new car every few years, and if life changes and you outgrow it, you're not stuck. It is way easier to walk away clean than trying to get out of a 7-year loan. Plus a few things people don't know: the car is still yours. It's in your driveway, registered in your name, both keys in your hand. You can even build equity if you drive less than you agreed to. And GAP protection is built right in at no extra cost. Oh, and that thing where people say "in finance the car is mine"? The bank owns it until you pay it off. Just saying.

FINANCING is for the long haul. You pay it off and it's yours, free and clear. No more payments, drive it into the ground if you want. If you drive a ton of kilometers, keep your cars for 7, 8, 10 years, or you want to modify it and make it truly yours, financing usually wins. The tradeoff is you're committed. Seven years is a long time, and life has a way of changing plans.

So which one? If you love that new car feeling every few years, drive normal kilometers, and like flexibility, lease. If you're a drive-it-forever, high-kilometer, make-it-mine person, finance.

No right or wrong. Just what's right for you. Message me and we'll figure out which one fits your life.
